"So many people spend their health gaining wealth, and then have to spend their wealth to regain their health." - A.J. Reb Materi, Our Family
What is your health worth to you?
I’ve been promising to post a blog about the true price of Shakeology for some time now, so here it is.
The truth is, sure you can get a “cheaper” alternative to Shakeology; but in the end, you get what you pay for and your “cheaper” alternative is cheaper in two senses. (Check this little experiment out. http://www.bestshakesupplement.com/shakeology-2/shakeology-alternative/)
Shakeology really is not just “another” shake supplement. If you don’t believe me, look for yourself and compare the ingredients of Shakeology to anything else out there. A lot of times I’m appalled by what are actually in some of these “health” supplements and meal replacements. Trust me, I don’t endorse Shakeology just because I’m a Beachbody coach. I endorse it because I honestly love and believe in the product.
If you ask me, I think Shakeology is underpriced. However, I am in law school and understand that not everyone is able to put aside $120 a month, up front. Au contraire, how many of you spend $5 on Starbucks regularly…maybe a few times a week, or even every day of the week?
When my mom turned to me and said, “Oh it’s just like Slim Fast,” I gagged. No, it’s not at all like Slim Fast. If you’re going to drink a Slim Fast, you might as well just eat a Hershey’s chocolate bar. Luckily, I’ve turned my mom on to Shakeology.
While products like Slim Fast use artificial flavoring, sweeteners, and other nasty things, the makers of Shakeology are careful not to cut corners. There is a reason why there is no vanilla flavored Shakeology, and that is because it is impossible to make a good tasting vanilla shake without adding artificial flavoring and sweeteners. The new Tropical Strawberry Shakeology, availablae February 14, 2012, was supposed to come out in November; however, that date (obviously) was pushed back. According to Carl Daikeler, the CEO of Team Beachbody, the reason why it was pushed back was because the brown rice supplier supplied the wrong kind of brown rice, which made the first ton of Tropical Strawberry taste wretched, and the entire product not up to par with the standards and values of company. That issue was attended to, to make sure the right and the best ingredients were used, so now in a little more than a week there will be a new and delicious flavor of Shakeology for everyone to try.
It comes down to this: each serving of Shakeology costs $4. For $4 you get the most complete meal you can get, loaded with all the nutrients your body needs. One reason why I drink it every day is so that I don’t have to worry about whether or not my body is getting all the nutrients it needs.
$4 is less than what you’d pay when you eat out, unless you’re eating off the $1 menu at McDonald’s. But, c’mon…your medical bill from countless health issues will come out to be a lot more than $4 a meal (or $120 a month) if you’re making too many trips there and to fast food places and cheap diners. Even if you’re eating a salad when you’re out, you’ll need to take about 6 ½ trips to the salad bar to match what you get in one serving of Shakeology.
A home cooked meal consisting of chicken breast, a serving of vegetables, and a baked potato will come out to maybe just under $4 at the cheapest. So in essence, a serving of Shakeology is a meal replacement in nutritious and nourishment value, as well as price. However, if you’re like me and have a hectic schedule, preparing a home-cooked meal is not always an option. Having one Shakeology a day is thus also a time saver for me.
Anyways, it all comes down to choice. What is your health worth to you? For me choosing between Shakeology and something else, is like choosing between Chanel and Walmart....it's a no brainer.
