This is #1 on my list of new places I want to visit. Thanks to Pinterest, I discovered this magical little town tucked away in the northeastern part of France, and it looks like something carved out of a fairytale. Having grown up on fairytales and regular weekend trips to Disneyland, this town shot straight to the top of my list of places I am antsy just thinking about getting to.
It sits on the Lauch River, directly east of the Vosges Mountains, and is connected to the Rhine by a canal. Oh the fond memories I have of the Rhine. Colmar is known for Alsatian Wine, and each year holds the largest Alsacian wine fair.
Uggh, I’m drooling over this town just sitting here writing about it. Colmar just screams romantic adventure. There is even a weekly night show that, “like a magic paintbrush, it redraws the town…”
See for yourself how magical the place looks: http://www.ot-colmar.fr/en/?lang=en
Interesting fact, Colmar is the hometown of Frederic Bartholdi, sculptor of the Statue of Liberty.
I’m thinking of going next year when I finish the bar in July, I’ll be sure to share some magic with you when I do ;).
BIG LOVE & HUGS
