What are you excited to see come back on air, or debut??? I’ve been trying to be better about keeping up with television, because I think being in the music and entertainment industry, it’s a must. Thanks to Hulu, I can watch or half-watch episodes like I'm listening to a lullaby putting me to sleep... well, kind of...when it’s 2 A.M., and I have finally closed the books for the night. My sleep schedule is way off right now, but that’s a whole other story.
I’m a lover of sitcoms, so I’m anxious for "Big Bang Theory" and "How I Met Your Mother," to make me laugh when studying gets painful. I mean, how do you not love Sheldon? I just can’t get enough of him. And the “How I Met Your Mother” gang kind of makes me nostalgic for the “Friends” days.
If life on the upper-east side is really that dramatic, well…that’s a scary thought. I do love a good show with great fashion for a little girly inspiration though, so "Gossip Girl" fills the void that "Sex And The City" left behind. Not to mention, I think Blair Waldorf is one of the most intriguing, funny, and oddly relatable characters on television. The more I watch the show, the fonder I grow of her.
I can’t forget about “Law & Order: SVU.” I LOVE this show, and I LOVE Mariska Hargitay. She is a woman. A real woman. It’s definitely my all-time favorite cop/lawyer show. I can’t believe I only started watching this show once I was in law school. Not going to lie, watching the show has definitely helped me review for my Evidence and Crimes classes. So, I’m excited for the return of this show!
Of the new shows coming on, I’m looking forward to “The Mindy Project.” I’ve never watched "The Office.” I derno, I guess I just never really got into it. But, this Indian girl—she’s hilarious. She’s so honestly comical. I think I fell in love with her when I was watching the pilot and she said something about being a 30 year old, chubby, Indian girl.
“Baby Daddy” is one I also find quite funny. I feel like there’s quite a bit of overacting in the show, but I’m going to give it a shot and hope for the best, because I just love Melissa Peterman. Her style of comedy reminds me of modern day Vaudeville--big actions and facial expression, with a contemporary tongue.
There’s one show I am nervous about—“Nashville.” While I’m technically not from Nashville, Nashville is definitely home to me; so, I’m afraid of how Nashville and country music is going to be portrayed in the show. I could go on and on about this, but I won’t bore you with that in this post. We’ll save that for a different cultural enlightenment post ;).
You know, I try not to inappropriately or crudely insult or offend other people’s work; but as for anything on ABC Family—pure garbage! I don’t understand it. And I really don’t think a lot of their material is appropriate for “family” audiences. Maybe this is an indication that I’m “old” now, but “no no no no no no no,” I say shaking my head like a disappointed Duckey from "Land Before Time."
Well, if I went on to talk about ALL the television shows on air, I’d be writing a virtual encyclopedia, which I really don’t have time for. So, please DO share your television preferences. I’d love to hear J
