By: Julia HarrisFarmshop is the latest answer to celeb citing brunch places on the west side of Los Angeles. It is a breakfast/lunch/dinner restaurant/market located in the Brentwood Country Mart on San Vicente and 26th. A friend and I drove here for brunch, because my neighbor said the food was good, it was a good celeb spotting venue (not gonna lie), and let’s face it – sometimes you need a break from all that drinking after work (drinks have lots of calories!). The menu features traditional California fare made from fresh ingredients. Friend had the Coddled Eggs, which comes with smoked salmon, mushroom conserva, and brioche toast. Not a fan of mushrooms, but I tried everything else, and it was pretty damn good! I had the Egg White Omelet with cheese and spinach that also came with tomatoes and a croissant on the side. Wonderful. Coffee was amazing, and the best part? They’ll put your coffee in a to-go cup, fill it up, and let you take it with you. Prices are steep for breakfast/brunch. Twenty-dollar omelet and almost fifteen for friend’s eggs and salmon. We ended up spotting a B list actor waiting for his table, and all in all it was a good time. Server was very nice and not at all snobby. Word to the wise – make a reservation. We had one, and waited maybe 3 or 4 minutes for them to clear a table and seat us. They are also open for lunch and dinner, and judging by the dessert menu, I’ll be needing to make a return trip. There is a parking lot, which can be tight if the country mart is busy (which it always is). Best part of the menu: the note at the bottom that can be seen in the above photo. Happy eating! Due to her love of all things food she is constantly looking for amazing new restaurants and bars in the greater Los Angeles area so that she can force her friends to go out with her and pretend that we’re all big shots.
