Best Dressed: Kate Hudson in the most stunningly exquisite Versace Atelier gown ever.
My favorite part about the Oscars is the red carpet.  Here are some of my faves from the evening.

Kristin Bell’s white, strapless, Cavalli dress was exquisite.  I love the corseted back and the detailed embellishment on the front.  And the train was so divine. I don’t think I’ve ever seen her look so beautiful.  Even her hair was perfect.

The deep green of Idina Menzel’s Vera Wang was deliciously elegant. I love the sweet, princess neckline, and the classic structure of the dress.

Amy Adam’s deep blue, strapless Gucci dress was relatively simple, but absolutely beautiful.  The flap detailing at the neckline and the waistline made the structure of the dress perfectly accentuate her figure. I also loved that her drop earrings matched her dress, but the bit of orange/pink added a bit of a girly fun flare.

Eww.  Pharrell in shorts???  So inappropriate.

Naomi Watts looked very pretty in her white, capped-sleeve Calvin Klein Collection dress.  I loved the simplicity of her straight, almost carefree hair.  It added an edgier feel to her whole look.

Oo oo ooo.  I love Kevin Spacey’s blue Burberry suit!  He was looking sharp.

Jessica Biel looked like a breath of spring in a soft, strapless Chanel couture dress.  She was like a Monet come to life in a sparkly couture dress.

Cate Blanchett looked like a jovial fairy queen in a Giorgio Armani number, littered with beautiful petals.  She said it was heavy, but she looked light as a feather.  I love her starburst drop earrings, too.  They looked like she plucked them out of the night sky.

Matthew McConaughey’s wife’s pink dress looked beautifully regal with the cape-like layers, in a state dinner sort of way.  I loved it.

Charlize Theron is an absolute vision in the black Dior gown.  She looks stunning. The structured neckline was incredibly sexy, and apparently there are like illusion straps, which you might not realize are there until you see the back of the dress.  The drop necklace was exquisite and had that same, pulled out of the sky starburst look that Cate Blanchett’s earrings had.

Jennifer Lawrence’s Dior dress is absolutely gorgeous.  I thought it was a bit of a risk, because she wore a strapless red Calvin Klein dress a few years ago, but this red is just such an incredible, vibrant, delicious shade of red, who cares.  It’s magnificent.  And paired with, again, a backwards necklace. I love it .  I love the backwards necklace.  It’s so simple and elegant. The way her hair is just swooped back adds the very cool, fun, Jennifer Lawrence character to her entire look.

Okay, when I saw her, there was no doubt who was going to be my best dressed of the night.  Best Dressed—Kate Hudson in Atelier Versace.  The draped, cape-like back makes her look like a queen in the most vibrant white.  Few people pull off plunging necklines as well as Kate does.  And her dress was so perfectly taped, that she actually looked like she has boobs.  I also loved the crisscross detail, which pulled the dress together so elegantly.  This dress is an example of why I love Versace.  Stunning. Absolutely stunning.

Hope you enjoyed the show!  Let me know your favorite red carpet looks :).

BIG LOVE & HUGS

Justine
