The Comedy & Magic Club

After my last final of my law school career, I drove straight to The Comedy and Magic Club to celebrate one of my best friend’s quarter-century birthday.  Surprisingly, none of us had been there before, even though it’s a local hot spot that I believe draws in crowds from all over.

It was marvelous.  It was my first time at a comedy show, and I never thought I’d love it that much.  My face already started hurting within the first 10 minutes.

The thing that charmed me about it right away, was the set up and atmosphere.  It reminded me of a larger, somewhat nicer Station Inn (for my Nashville folks who know what that is).

And I’ve actually been to the side room, to see a musical act, but this was way cooler.  I hadn’t eaten yet so along with my Jack, I ordered their “House Made Chicken Eggrolls.”  They are AAAAAAmazing!  Seriously.  Definitely a fusion delusion, and a delight.

That night the headliner was Michael McDonald, and I’ve never watched MadTV, but I want to now.  He was hilarious.  The other comedians were also very funny, and one of them did indeed do some magic which I am still trying to wrap my head around.

What a great place to go out with friends, or even a date.  Seriously.  The next time your in L.A., head down to the South Bay for some ocean air and comedy.  You will NOT regret it.  In fact, you’ll come and not want to leave.  I know…because the South Bay is my hometown, and no matter how many cool places I’ve travelled to, I realize the South Bay is a true treasure.

BIG LOVE & HUGS

Love,

Justine
